Kitchen Director/Chef

Job Description: Kitchen Director/Chef

Salary: Starting pay at $16/hour (45 hour work week)

FLSA: Non-Exempt Employee
Classification: Manager
Reports to: Operations Director
Department: Operations
Supervises: Asst. Chef and Team Members

Position Summary: To oversee and coordinate kitchen-oriented strategies and initiate ideas that drive the restaurant toward our vision of Quality, Speed, and Food Safety, while meeting financial goals of the business.

Qualifications: (Required)

Director Level: An Associate's degree or at least 2 years of equivalent work experience.
Proven leadership abilities as exampled by previous work experience
Effective communication skills as exampled by previous work experience

Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Serve Safe certified for at least 4 years
  • Complete understanding of a Health Department inspection with ability to initiate systems/plans/processes to correct issues
  • Assistant Kitchen Manager/Soux Chef level experience or higher
  • Full understanding and trouble shooting capabilities of food cost & labor
  • Basic understanding of a company’s financial statement
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong systems driven approach to providing high quality food products while creating a food safe environment
  • Experience contributing to training, development, and team building

  • Overall Satisfaction: Top 20% in the chain
  • Incremental Profit Opportunity: Below 2%
  • Customer Experience Monitor Scores: Top 20% in the chain
  • Food Cost Gap: Less than .5% monthly
  • Monthly declining balance budget for their area of responsibility not exceeded
  • Labor: $65 sales per man hour goal met monthly
